Welcome to Smart Incubator, what’s that 4-letter word again?

Can you think of a 4-letter word ending with k? Something that many people profess to do and yet evidently they are not doing enough of? Yes, the answer is R-I-S-K or more accurately, the ‘management of risk‘ as they go about their daily lives.
At Smart Incubator, we passionately believe that teens and adults can make far FEWER and AVOIDABLE financial mistakes should they be be equipped with the right tools and framework for thinking about risk.
Smart Incubator does this through a number of ways:
- Provide students with a good essential understanding of financial markets and investments because every good decision starts with a clear understanding of the ‘rules of the game’.
- Emphasize the need for proper risk management in trading and financial investments. Studies after studies have revealed how badly retail investor perform as compared to the broader market. We believe that one of the major contributor to this is the lack of financial risk management in retail investors.
- Highlight the dangers of gambling both from a macro and a micro perspective using case studies, computer simulations and much more. This is something we feel is pertinent given the emergence of the Integrated Resort in Singapore, 2010.
- Identifying scams. It’s a dirty world out there. Are you competent enough to take on the scammers and avoid their tricks? In recent year we have seen an explosive growth of scam related incidents hitting our sunny shores. These include Sunshine Empire, guaranteed wine buyback schemes which promise astronomical returns with no risk, Euro-lottery scams, Nigerian scams and much more. We can only say ‘be armed’ and learn to question everything that seems too good to be true.
